Piermont based photographer Daniel Spitzer has travelled widely in search of just a select few images. And while some photographers develop one particular style or concentrate on but one subject - often because it has become identified with that photographer, and will thus 'sell' - Daniel is unwilling to allow commercial concerns to dictate what type of image he will capture or generate. And when he does concentrate in one area, he will often work for months or even years to generate one (or just a very few) images - and then move on, rather than simply repeating a prior effort, minimally modified.

The result is a highly eclectic grouping of images. Many tell stories, others contain hidden elements, and some are simply lushly beautiful or abstractly harmonic. Daniel works in black and white as well as color, capturing images on film with cameras dating from the 1940s through the most modern, and often performing post production in Photoshop. "The medium is less important than the message", he states; "Prepare for the unexpected."
