Why is bicycle fitting so important?

Many cyclists believe that pain is part of bicycling. Whether it's between their shoulder blades, saddle numbness, back pain, or aching knees. This occurs when your bike does not fit you properly.

Eliminating discomfort is an integral part of the fitting process. The goal is to make the riding experience more rewarding by examining every aspect of your cycling comfort and efficiency.

If your body is not in biomechanical alignment with the mechanics of the bike, then energy is wasted due to inefficient power transfer. Numerous cyclists from beginner to elite are comfortable but unaware that their position is bio-mechanically inefficent. It is also common to waste energy due to lack of core stability and strength, poor flexability, incorrect saddle height and position, poor pedaling technique and poor cleat placement. These are just a few of the issues that are examined and taken into account during the fitting process.

Saddle height, angle, fore/aft position, handlebar width/drop, stem length/rise, cleat fore/aft and alignment. These adjustments are made to match the riders style and needs. The riders flexability, range of motion and level of fitness are also taken into consideration. All of these factors affect adjustments on the bike.
